Pamela Jackson’s secrets forced her to change her identity and move to the Oregon Coast.
When Pamela finds herself called to jury duty—and worse, selected for the jury on a murder trial—she fears she must see it through to keep up appearances as an upstanding citizen.
But Pamela might know a little too much about murder to pull it off.
“Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s crime stories are exceptional, both in plot and in style.”—Ed Gorman

Jury Duty edition by Kristine Kathryn Rusch Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
Kristine Kathryn Rusch writes a lot of short stories and most of the ones I've read are pretty short indeed, but she has a way of packing a lot into a little bit of space and making it come out nearly perfect. Her short story, "Jury Duty" is just such a story.Pamela Jackson has moved to the Oregon Coast in order to assume a new identity and to leave behind the serious problems with the law that she had back home. She now has freedom to live and work as she wants, and also to pursue her favorite pasttime of reading. Pamela just doesn't want to be bothered. Then the summons comes for jury duty. Just what she needs. She goes to the courthouse on the day the jury is chosen, and when her number is called she tries to answer everything in such a way that will get her dismissed from the juty, but it doesn't work. Now she's stuck on a jury of "Small Minds" and a man from California who thinks he's The Boss. This jury is in for a wild ride now that Pamela is on it.
The story has a well thought out plot and a main character who has some redemptive qualities in spite of her less-then-attractive personality. Rusch's characters are always quite distinctive and not easy to forget. I recommend this short story for anyone who likes legal stories or legal mysteries. 4.5 stars

Jury Duty edition by Kristine Kathryn Rusch Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Too short to be considered a book, Hard to find enough word to describe how much I disliked this non- story.
A very good read. Not a Grisham rated type book but a very interesting court room mystery senerio. Happy Reading!
